Gretchen Elise appears as a Special Guest with Farrid Barron and Friends Jazz Trio, Marvin Gaye Tribute. The Latte Lounge serves up " Coffee, Tea and Atmosphere," and for 8 years has mixed its tea and coffee with jazz and jazz-laced music. Farrid performs eclectic, unforgettable arrangements of jazz standards and originals with brother Jafar (Cornet) and Pedro Matos (soprano and tenor saxophone).

of bridging world, jazz, R & B and hip hop music in the Boston area. At Ryles, Gretchen Elise will debut
new material, including a Norwegian Suite, and reunite with reggae singer
Lady Lee of Gretchen's debut Are You Ready and hip hop poet Walnut .
Gretchen Elise seamlessly combines her international (Norwegian, German, Mexican)
heritage
with the jazz and R & B influence of her native Philadelphia. Her multilingual, beautifully arranged
performances
are both inspiring and interactive. $10 cover.

At her first all-ages performance since the December '04 release of her debut CD Are You Ready? Gretchen Elise and her phenomenal band create a special bridge between local performers and the youth they teach. An eclectic mix of spoken word, rap, juggling, fashion, and live 7-piece band performance is unusual in its inclusion of middle-school aged performers from Gretchen Elise's recording and teaching projects, including the Cambridge/Boston drumming and math project Drum Logic. Featuring Walnut. Hosted by opera singer Andrew Alexander. $7 Donation requested

Arts in Education, led by Gretchen Elise and other Harvard Graduate
School of Education students, jump-start a jambalaya style,
interactive, multi-media performance jam to benefit Hurricane Katrina
victims. Visual art and silent auction will mix with carnival style
audience participation for a multi-faceted, spontaneous event. Bridge
between Harvard and surrounding community will be strengthened.Funds
will be split between Marsalismusic.com's Hurricane Katrina Musicians
Relief Fund and one of the non-profits approved for matching funds by
Harvard University. $5 suggested donation.

Gretchen Elise opens at 10pm with a solo set of signature jazzy/world laced tunes graced by Hans Indigo Spencer on sax (www.hansindigo) and a cameo by Walnut. Tempting Fate Revue combines some of Berklee's best professional talent in a live, R & B dance band. A lively show in their own right, Tempting Fate will back both Hip Hop MC Lyrical and dynamic duo One Love.

Gretchen Elise performs with her "dream line up" of collaborators during this night of soul/poetry/jazz/hip hop. She will perform for the first time in Boston her title track from Are You Ready with the reggae song-sister Lady Lee, and collab on an original track with hip hop poet Walnut during his set. Her own set includes new arrangements for an intimate combo: Hans Indigo Spencer on baritone sax, John Capello on bass, and Rob Rudin on percussion.. Great food available. $2 Cover.
